"The technology that has so dramatically changed the world outside our schools is now changing the learning and teaching environment within them." - National Education Technology Plan for the U.S. Department of Education

Message to Educators

Federal and state education laws increasing require school districts to provide internet safety information security and cyber ethics education for k-12 grade students. While instructional resources and content for such education is now being provided reputable organizations such as Internet Safety Coalition, NCMEC, and iKeepSafe. K-12 grade curriculum that maps to state and national standards remains a long way off. Staff development for teaching cyber safety, security and ethics also remains largely undeveloped and undersupplied. The CSEI has identified these shortcomings as being of critical importance to U.S. National Education, technology and security policies. To learn more about what is being done by educators in Monroe County see the Cyber Safety Initiative PSA video.
